With her parents and older sister Samantha, Mandy moved to Edgewater, Florida at the age of three. As a baby, she started to show an early interest in music by banging on the home stereo until it was turned on. She also grabbed anything that resembled a microphone to sing into. Singing in baby talk, Mandy stayed on pitch and in tune to songs on the radio, thoroughly surprising her parents.

During career day in first grade, Mandy announced she was going to be a singer. She then proceeded to sing her heart out without reservation. Mandy would go on to perform at many school talent and variety shows. She took part in her local church choir in forth grade and won a Karaoke contest at the age of nine. Performing came natural to her.

After seeing her father play for years, Mandy began playing guitar at the age of 12. Six months later at a local open mic night, Mandy was coaxed up on stage by a fellow musician. She preformed two songs that evening, and on her way home announced to her father she wanted to play music for the rest of her life.

She spent countless hours writing songs in her journals and practicing guitar and voice. This was, and still is, a passion that cannot be overlooked. After various open mic nights, at the tender age of 14, Mandy Brooke began performing paid venues. By word of mouth, this young girl generated a following.

The local newspaper wrote an article about Mandy’s aspirations of becoming a singer, songwriter and performer. What stood out in those articles was her ability to connect with people through her music. They reported how well grounded and humble Mandy was. In fact, until that time, many of her fellow classmates did not realize the extent of Mandy’s musical abilities.

Mandy’s first trip to Nashville with her mother and uncle proved to be the next step in Mandy’s life. There, Mandy attended Tin Pan South; a NSAI (National Songwriters Association International) event held in the heart of the Music City. She also attended a song symposium, and got her first glimpse of the Famous Bluebird Cafe. After returning home, Mandy was anxious to audition for the Bluebird. On her second trip to Nashville, she passed her first audition and was asked to perform at the highly acclaimed writer’s night!

As Mandy looks ahead with style and composure that is unique for a young girl, her heart and soul is grounded in her songwriting and music. Many people comment that she is an “old soul.” Mandy stays true to herself, yet is humble enough to know that she has much to learn. Watching her uncover her music is inspirational.

Her world is yet to be discovered.

Mandy Brooke continues to perform at various venues around Florida.
